Masked gang ransack Lanarkshire house in 'targeted attack'

Three masked men forced their way into a house and threatened two women before escaping with a sum of cash, in what police believe may have been a targeted attack.

The incident happened on Glebe Hollow in Bothwell, Lanarkshire around 5.30pm on Saturday, 21 November.

Three men wearing disposable face masks threatened two women, aged 49 and 59. They ransacked through the house and stole a three figure sum of cash.

They left in a grey/silver coloured Audi A3 saloon.

Detective Constable Ruth Whyte, of Cambuslang CID, said: "The occupants of the house are understandably shaken but were not seriously injured during the incident.

"We have carried out door to door and CCTV enquiries and are now appealing for the public's help.

"I would ask anyone who knows anything about this incident, saw a vehicle matching the description or people acting suspiciously around the area to contact us "
