Man dies after fatal assault in Erskine and police cordon off area

Emergency services remain at the scene as Police Scotland has confirmed that a man died after being attacked in the Park Drive area of Erskine this afternoon.

A man has died after a brutal attack in Erskine on New Year’s Day.

A large police presence remains in the Park Drive area after police received reports of a man being assaulted at 12.55pm in the area today.

Emergency services attended the scene in Erskine, Renfrewshire, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have locked down the area with certain streets remaining cordoned off this evening while enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the attack.

A Police Scotland Spokesperson said: “We were called around 12:55pm on Friday 1 January, 2021, to a report of a man being assaulted in the Park Drive area of Erskine.

“He sadly died at the scene. Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstance of what happened.”
