Man attacked and seriously injured in Glasgow

A MAN is in hospital after being seriously injured in a violent attack, police said. Officers were called to Hoddam Avenue in the Castlemilk area of Glasgow following a report of a disturbance at about 6.45am today.

The 37-year-old was taken to the city’s Victoria Infirmary, where his condition is described as serious but stable.

Detectives are treating the attack as attempted murder.

There is currently no information about the suspect and officers are carrying out door-to-door inquiries to gather more details about the incident.

Detective Sergeant Graham Scott said: “Our inquiry is at an early stage but I would like to appeal to the local community to get in touch with us.

“Today’s a public holiday and many will have been at home around the time of the incident.

“Officers will be speaking to local residents today and I am urging them to provide as much information as possible and help us find the person responsible for this violent attack.”
