Man arrested following fatal shooting at Scottish address

A man has been arrested after a person was shot and killed inside a property.

The incident happened yesterday where a gunman opened fire after entering a house in Nithsdale Road, Ardrossan, at about 4.50pm.

A 42-year-old man died shortly afterwards from his injuries.

A 46-year-old woman was in the property at the time but she was unharmed.

Police said a 42-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

In a statement a spokeswoman said: “enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances of what happened."
