M8 Glasgow crash: pensioner dies in multi-vehicle collision

A 71-year-old man has died in a crash on Scotland's busiest motorway.

The fatal collision happened on the M8 near junction 13, Riddrie at about 2.30pm on Friday, 13 November.

The pensioner was driving a black Jaguar XF when he collided with multiple vehicles before crashing on the motorway's hard shoulder.

Emergency services attended but the elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene – his family have been informed.

No other driver involved in the crash was injured.

A police spokeswoman said: “Road policing officers are appealing following a road crash on the eastbound carriageway of the M8 near junction 13, Riddrie.

“Anyone who may have seen what happened or who has dash-cam footage that could help with the investigation is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 2104 of Friday, 13 November."
