Husband in drink attack

A HUSBAND attacked his estranged wife after a drunken row during a family dinner.

Livingston Sheriff Court heard that relations between Gareth and Evelyn Gibb were fine when they were sober, but Kevin Dugan, defending, said: “If drink is taken by either Mr or Mrs Gibb, that’s when trouble starts.”

Gibb, of Addiewell, West Lothian, changed his plea to guilty as his trial was due to start yesterday.

He admitted repeatedly punching Mrs Gibb on the head during a row at her home on September 26 last year.

A plea of not guilty to throwing a dog across a room at St John’s Hospital was accepted.

Sheriff Martin Edington deferred sentence for reports.
