Housebreaker arrested after man spotted on roof of house in Silverknowes

Cops have cuffed a 16-year-old following reports of a housebreaking after a man was spotted on the roof of a house in Silverknowes.

Police, an ambulance and a fire engine swarmed an address in Silverknows View after witnesses spotted a man on the roof of a house at around 12 noon today.

Officers had been in attendance at nearby Barnton Avenue in relation to a housebreaking.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Edinburgh responded to an address in the Silverknowes area after a male climbed onto the roof of the property.

“The incident was peacefully resolved at around 1.50pm and a 16-year-old has been arrested.”
