A man from Glasgow was put in hospital after an assault in Balgrayhill Road yesterday evening.

Police described the attack as “serious”, and said the 19-year-old was left with an injured leg after the incident in Springburn at 10:45pm on Friday.

He was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police have been checking CCTV footage in the area, and have now made a public appeal for information.

Detective Sergeant Stephen Palmer said: “I am appealing to members of the public who were in the area around the time of the incident to get in touch.

“At this time, we do not know the motive for this attack and any small piece of information could assist our enquiries in establishing exactly what has happened and why.”
