Fresh appeal over sex assault

Police have issued a new appeal for witnesses following a sexual assault in Edinburgh.

The incident happened at 3:25am on Christmas Eve in McDonald Road.

A 23-year-old woman was approached by a man who engaged her in conversation before grabbing at her. There was a struggle and the victim was sexually assaulted before the man made off towards Leith Walk.

The suspect is described as dark skinned, 5ft 6ins and slim. He had short, dark, wavy hair, dark eyes and a dark moustache. He was wearing a black coat with a hood.
