Fisherman dies after falling overboard in North Sea
A major rescue mission was launched to find the man, after the crew of the vessel raised the alarm at 1:54am.
The Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Inverness and Aberdeen and Stonehaven RNLI lifeboats were sent to the scene about four miles east of Stonehaven.

Hide AdSeveral commercial vessels that were in the area responded to mayday relay broadcasts and also helped in the search.
Though the man was eventually pulled from the water, he was pronounced dead.
Police Scotland said officers, who were called at 3:15am on Tuesday, were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
