Dillan Mannarn, 19, befriended teenage females on social media then blackmailed them into sending him nude pictures and videos of themselves in a perverted five-year campaign.

A jury heard how the predatory sex beast watched graphic porn movies on the internet to find out about rough sex techniques.

He then pressurised girls as young as 14 to meet him for kinky sex sessions and threatened to post embarrassing pictures and videos he had extorted from them online if they refused to co-operate.

Mannarn, said to have a short temper, subjected several of his teenage victims to terrifying ‘rough sex’ ordeals which left them bruised and traumatised, jurors heard.

Copying what he had seen on porn sites, he abused his victims as he brutally raped them before dumping them for other girls he had met through Facebook and Instagram.

Girl lost consciousness

He told police that one of his victims had encouraged him to choke her harder but she lost consciousness because he strangled her for too long.

A jury at the High Court in Edinburgh found Mannarn guilty of sexually abusing a string of young women from the Edinburgh area between February 1st, 2015 and June 8th last year.

Judge Lord Woolman deferred sentence until March 31st at Edinburgh High Court for background reports.

He ordered that Mannarn’s name be added to the Sex Offenders’ Register with immediate effect and that Scottish Ministers be notified of his sexual convictions under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007..

In addition to the rapes and underage sex charges, Mannarn was convicted of attempting to meet a 14 year-old girl for sex and sending her sexual communications asking her to send him nude images.

He was convicted of filming himself having sex with two of victims without their knowledge, threatening to publish intimate videos and images of them on the internet and using the images to extort further sexual photographs and films from them.

The jury's verdicts found him guilty of a total of 15 offences but cleared him of two further rapes after finding him not guilty of raping one young women while she was sleeping and of raping another after allegedly blackmailing her into giving him oral sex.

He was earlier acquitted of a fifth rape after the judge ruled there was insufficient evidence to convict him.

Mannarn, of Granton Mains Avenue, Edinburgh, showed no emotion as the verdicts were read out and smiled broadly as he was led away to the cells.

His mother Lisa, 35, said in evidence that she had “no idea” what messages or images he was sending from his social media accounts.

She burst into tears in court and was comforted outside by police officers as she appeared to be having a panic attack.
