Edinburgh driver hit with a double fine after attempting to drive to Wigan to buy a puppy

Cumbria Roads Police had to escort the car back up north.

Cumbria Roads Police has issued a double fine after stopping a car travelling from Edinburgh to Wigan to buy a puppy.

The driver was issued a fine after being stopped by the police, and was then stopped 10 minutes later after ignoring the advice to return home, resulting in a second fine.

The police then escorted the car on its journey back up North.

The incident occurred at Junction 36 in Cumbria and the police tweeted a picture of the grey Audi that they had stopped.

Current lockdown restrictions forbid any unnecessary travel.
