Dog walker attacked in mystery assault

A DOG walker has been attacked by four men in a busy street in what police say was an unprovoked assault.

The 45-year-old man was walking in Crownpoint Road in Bridgeton, Glasgow, at 5pm on Monday, when four men got out of a silver Ford Transit-style van and attacked him.

They then returned to the van and drove off towards Fielden Street.

The injured man was treated in Glasgow Royal Infirmary and has since been released.

Strathclyde Police have the description of only one attacker: a white man aged about 40, who was 5ft 10in with black curly hair.

Detective constable Alan Moir said: “This seems to be a completely unprovoked attack on this man in a street, which would have been particularly busy. I am urging anyone who saw the attack to contact officers as soon as possible.”
