Craig Sneddon: Death of East Lothian man, 41, found near burnt out motorbike in Midlothian now being treated as murder

Police are now treating the death of a 41-year-old man whose body was found close to a burnt out motorcycle in Midlothian as murder.

Craig Sneddon’s body was found on a path in woodland off Hadfast Road, close to the A68 road near Cousland, at around 9.20am on Sunday, January 17.

A police spokesperson said: “The death of a man in Midlothian on Sunday, 17 January is now being treated as murder.

“He has now been formally identified as 41-year-old Craig Sneddon, from Wallyford, East Lothian.”

A 25-year-old man, Jordan Dickson, of Musselburgh, appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court accused of murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice on January 27. He made no plea and was remanded in custody.

Police previously made a public appeal for anyone with information to come forward to help with their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mr Sneddon’s death.

Hundreds of tributes were left online to Mr Sneddon following his death.
