Cannabis haul worth £500k confiscated by police in Glasgow

Police in Glasgow have confiscated around £500,000 worth of cannabis while carrying out a search of a business premises in the city.

Officers with a search warrant went to the property in the Tollcross Road area of the city as part of an intelligence-led operation on Friday.

Detectives are trying to trace those responsible for growing the plants.

They urged anyone with information to contact them.

Detective Inspector Steven Elliott said: “Drugs and the people who supply them have absolutely no place in our communities, we have teams of specialist officers working every day to tackle this issue.

“We recognise the damage it causes to communities across the country and remain committed to tackling the problem with the assistance of the public.

“Anyone who has any information on people involved in these types of crimes, are asked to contact police on 101.
