Boy, 16, arrested after Viewforth school fire in Kirkcaldy

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged in connection with a fire which devastated the remains of the old Viewforth High School building in Kirkcaldy.

The fire hit the building on Saturday, August 15, with smoke and flames visible for miles across the area.

A police spokesperson said: “Following our previous appeal regarding a fire at the old Viewforth High School on Loughborough Road, Kirkcaldy on Saturday, 15 August, a 16 year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with this incident.

"A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

“Officers would like to thank the public for their help with this enquiry.”
