Boxing tycoon accused of lying for mortgage

MILLIONAIRE boxing tycoon Barry Hughes and his wife appeared at court yesterday for a legal argument.

Hughes, 33, and wife Jacqueline, 36, of Kilmacolm, Renfrew shire, are alleged to have lied about income on mortgage applications. They also face charges under the Proceeds of Crime Act. The pair, due to be tried next month, appeared in the dock together at Glasgow Sheriff Court for the legal debate.

They both deny the charges.
