Body recovered from Firth of Forth two weeks ago identified as 41-year-old Stirling University student

A body recovered from the Firth of Forth two weeks ago has now been identified as that of a 41-year-old student who attended Stirling University.

The man, who was found dead off Preston Island near Culross in Fife on August 5, has been identified as Rodwhan Ali Al Montsir, who was originally from Libya.

Police said the death is being treated as unexplained pending a post-mortem examination and the Procurator Fiscal has been informed.

On Tuesday, police released an image showing a t-shirt worn by the man in a public appeal to try and establish his identity.

Rodwhan was reported missing after being last seen in Bridgehaugh Road, Stirling, on July 29.
