Bellshill Athletic FC: Watch as fire crews battle blaze at Rockburn Park

Firefighters were called to the team’s ground early this morning.

A fire has gutted Bellshill Athletic FC’s clubhouse at Rockburn Park in Glasgow.

Scottish Fire and Resuce were alerted to the blaze at 6:30am this morning, and sent three fire engines to the scene at Carnoustie Place.

Footage shared on the football club’s social media shows smoke billowing out of a building on the site, as fire crews try to get it under control.

An hour later, the club’s main changing room was still “well ablaze”, according to the team’s official Twitter account.

A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We had a call this morning around 6.30am concerning reports of a building on fire at Bellshill Athletic's football ground.

"We mobilised two appliances and a further appliance attended at the request of those on sight. Fire crews remain in attendance at the scene".

The extent of the damage is not yet known.
