Arrest made over Rangers players Twitter abuse

A MAN has been arrested after allegations that racist messages were sent to two Rangers players on Twitter.

Strathclyde police said a 41-year-old man has been been arrested.

The arrest follows complaints that defender Kyle Bartley and midfielder Maurice Edu had been abused on social networking site Twitter.

Bartley, on loan at the Scottish champions from Arsenal, wrote on his page: “Disappointing that in 2012 things like this are still happening. Hopefully the police will take action. Thank you all for the support.”

Edu tweeted: “Sad day when that’s what people are tweeting.”
