£125k of cocaine sezied after police stop car on motorway

Police have confiscated drugs worth £125,000 after stopping a car on a motorway.

Officers from Lanarkshire Police Division stopped a car on the M74 close to Bothwell services and recovered the drugs, throught to be cocaine, from the vehicle.

Two men, both aged 26 years old, were arrested and detained by police.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Inspector Martin McGhee of the Specialist Crime Division, said: “Teams of officers work every day to gather intelligence and target those who are involved in the supply of controlled drugs within our communities.
