A 16-year-old boy has appeared in court accused of sexually assaulting a teenager.

Police were called to reports of a 16-year-old girl being sexually assaulted in Perth, at around 9.35pm on Friday.

The boy, from Dundee, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused of two counts of sexual assault and two of assault.

He also faces two charges of behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

The teenager is further accused of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

He made no plea during his appearance at Dundee Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody pending a further court hearing.
