Crime reports in on time

Lothian and Borders Police have hit their annual targets for submitting reports of crimes to the procurator fiscal within 28 days, new figures have shown.

Officers from Lothian and Borders submitted a total of 28,492 reports to the fiscal’s office between last April and March.

And the latest figures released showed that 81 per cent of those submissions were filed within the four-week mark. The force target is 80 per cent.

Officers also hit the 80 per cent target for submitting reports to the Children’s Reporter within two weeks, managing 81 per cent in the same period.
