Crews tackle shop blaze

FIRE crews raced to a small blaze that broke out in a shop on the High Street.

The fire broke out inside an extractor fan at James Pringle Weavers at around noon yesterday but was dealt with in around 20 minutes.

Firefighters from Tollcross and McDonald Road were called to tackle the blaze.

Meanwhile, a cinema was evacuated after a projector caught fire.

Three fire engines and a command support unit rushed to the Odeon, in Lothian Road, after they received a call at 7.10pm on Saturday.
