Crew rescues 14 on island

FOURTEEN people had to be rescued by the Queensferry lifeboat from Cramond Island over the weekend in separate incidents.

On Friday afternoon, two people were trapped on the island by the fast incoming tide and were safely taken ashore by RNLI crews.

The following day, the lifeboat was again called out by the Coastguard after reports that others were marooned.

On reaching the island. the lifeboat crew found 12 men and women needing rescued.

They were taken aboard the lifeboat and safely landed ashore.
