Crew fly the saltire in the Big Apple

THE crew of the Edinburgh Inspiring Capital yacht flew the saltire as they sailed into the Big Apple at the weekend.

The hardy 44-strong crew finished their 10th race as part of the incredible 40,000-mile journey, taking in six continents along the way. The city's clipper pulled alongside fellow Britons Hull & Humber, who flew the VisitYorkshire flag as they sailed past the Statue of Liberty, down the East River, past the tourist destination at Pier 17 on Manhattan Island before sailing under the iconic Brooklyn Bridge.

For solicitor Suse Leslie it was a particularly special day as she was returning to New York after recently completing the city's marathon.
