Crash boy fights for life

A SEVEN-year-old boy is in a critical condition after he was knocked down by a car in Midlothian.

The incident happened at Bogwood Road in Mayfield, near Dalkeith, at around 1.30pm yesterday afternoon.

A Lothian and Borders Police spokesman said the boy had suffered a serious head injury and was in a critical but stable condition. He said: “The child was taken, conscious and breathing, to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, where he is in a stable condition.”
