Craig Whyte’s castle to have electricity cut off

It has been reported that Mr Whyte’s Castle Grant near Granton-on Spey is to have the electrical supply shut off after a large bill has remained outstanding.

The sum of money involved is said to be in five figures.

Mr Whyte has already been given two weeks to pay overdue mortgage payments on the property, which he which he purchased for £720,000 in 2008.

If Whyte fails to repay the arrears owed to Bank of Scotland, he will lose the property.

Meanwhile, an arrest warrant was issued for Mr Whyte after he failed to show up for the trial of two former housekeepers accused of stealing from his estate.
