FORMER Rangers owner Craig Whyte allegedly issued threats to his ex-wife so that she would return his Bentley.

Inverness Sheriff Court heard this week how the 41-year-old threatened to “send in a couple of heavies” after his estranged wife Kim had the

£60,000 luxury car impounded.

She is demanding that the Bentley is sold off to pay back money owed following the pair’s split.

Sheriff officers from Scott and Co. uplifted and secured the vehicle earlier this week after Kim, 42, had a legal ‘attachment’ order put on the car so that it could be sold at auction.

It has been reported that Whyte has failed to hand over several monthly payments as part of the couple’s separation deal.

Solicitor Jenna Sharp, acting for Kim, petitioned Sheriff Phillip Mann to have the restriction order on the vehicle made permanent.

Ms Sharp told the Court: “Information was received that the debtor told Mrs Whyte that he was sending someone to get the vehicle,

despite the attachment.

“The vehicle was then retrieved by Scott and Co. who had received information that a couple of heavies were coming to get the vehicle

and it is now in a secure location.”

The car is now expected to be sold off at auction.

Whyte was not represented in court and neither he or his ex-wife were present.
