Couple take a long walk home

A RETIRED couple walked all the way from their old home in Cheshire to their new one - 500 miles away in the north of Scotland.

Tom and Elaine Summerscales packed their worldly goods into a removal van, waved it goodbye, and set off on a remarkable 40-day trek, staying under canvas, at B&Bs and youth hostels.

They have now settled into their new home near Forres in Moray.
