Couple left ‘shaken’ after armed robbery in their home

A COUPLE have been “left shaken” by an armed robbery at their Edinburgh home, police have said.

The 58-year-old man and his 48-year-old wife were threatened with a knife and robbed in their house in Barnton Avenue West, Edinburgh, on Friday night.

Lothian and Borders Police said three men are thought to have been involved in the robbery. Jewellery and cash were stolen from the property.

Police said the couple have “not sustained serious injury, but they have been left shaken as a result of this”.

A spokesman added: “We would be keen to hear from anyone in the Barnton area who may have seen anything suspicious on Friday evening. Officers are currently conducting door-to-door inquiries.”
