Councils back school appeal

Two Midlothian community councils are to support a cash appeal by the Friends of Saltersgate School.

Penicuik and District Community Council agreed to donate £250, while Loanhead and District Community Council is to give £50.

The Dalkeith school provides education for youngsters with additional needs.

It has approached groups and organisations in a bid to raise £1500 to allow it to keep its charitable status.
