Council eyes ban on dogs

the city’s health and housing committee is to discuss calls to enforce a ban on keeping dogs in high-rise flats.

Leith councillor Gordon Munro initially lodged a motion for the full council calling for action following an incident where a pet mauled five people in the Cables Wynd House tower block earlier this month. But the motion was instead referred to the next meeting of the health and housing committee, on March 6.

The Scottish Secure Tenancy Agreement states that “the keeping of dogs is not permitted in multi-storey flats”.
