Cornucopia at Cornbank

MIDLOTHIAN children have helped to transform Cornbank Woodland in Penicuik.

Pupils at Cornbank Primary School spent two days with the Midlothian Council ranger service planting shrubs. As part of the £48,000 scheme, the woodland has been thinned out, dangerous trees removed and paths built. A total of 250 native trees will be planted.

A small pond has also been created, wildflowers planted and signs put up. The pupils helped to shape the design.
