Convicted drug dealer is evicted from council home

A DRUG dealer convicted of peddling heroin near a primary school has been evicted from her home by council chiefs.

Adelle Mackie, 35, formerly of Moir Avenue in Musselburgh, was convicted of being concerned in the supply of heroin near Wallyford Infant School and other locations.

After being detained beside the school, police officers found 19.4 grams of the drug on Mackie, as well as £166.60 in cash in her handbag.

A search of her home on the same day led to the discovery of scales covered in traces of heroin.

In November last year at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, Mackie pleaded guilty to supplying heroin between February 19 and April 13 of that year.

Mackie has been evicted from her council tenancy.

Councillor Stuart Currie, East Lothian Council’s housing and community safety leader, said: “Drug dealing is not something we will tolerate and, when a convicted dealer is a council tenant, we will take action.”
