Convener gets more cash to burn

FIRE Board convener Mike Bridgeman has banked a 2.5 per cent pay rise.

The Portobello and Craigmillar SNP councillor has seen his salary for heading up the Lothian and Borders Fire and Rescue Board increase to 36,528. Board rules state the convener's salary should always be 75 per cent of the amount paid to the leader of the council.
