Australian Dr Philip Nitschke was told just hours before he was due on stage yesterday, that he was unable to use gas cylinders needed for the show.

Dr Nitschke had been planning to gas members of the audience with harmless nitrogen gas, to show how his so called euthanasia machine, Destiny, works.

“Things aren’t going ahead as planned,” he said.

“The police and council have moved to close down any demonstration of the Destiny machine.”
