Contribution award for bus firm boss

The managing director of Lothian Buses has picked up the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Local Transport award at the Scottish Transport Awards in Glasgow.

The Scottish Transport Awards, now in its tenth year, recognises and celebrates excellence, innovation and progress across all areas of transport.

Organisers announced that Ian Craig received his award for outstanding leadership skills that have enhanced the reputation of Lothian Buses and for continuing to deliver good value public transport.

Under his tenure he has successfully overseen further growth in passenger numbers.

It is the second significant industry award to be presented to Mr Craig. In March, the 42-year-old managing director was named Regional Director of the Year 2011 at the Institute of Directors Awards.

Mr Craig said: “I am honoured to win such an award.”
