'Contract out' on gun victim

A WOMAN claimed that a shooting victim who later died had a contract out on him, a murder trial heard yesterday.

Paramedic Elaine Brown said she and a colleague responded to a call concerning a man lying in Hazelwood Grove, in the Inch area of Edinburgh, last January.

She said three people were already at the scene, including a woman whom resembled Caroline Igoe. The paramedic told the High Court in Edinburgh the woman said there had been a contract on Mr Barclay.

Advocate depute Alex Prentice QC asked if she had given information suggesting it might be a contract shooting and she replied: "Yes." The trial continues.
