Construction firms out to build up work

CONSTRUCTION companies across Scotland are to be given the opportunity to meet potential clients.

Edinburgh, Midlothian and West Lothian will be among three local authorities present at an event to be staged at Murrayfield Stadium on October 3 – along with representatives from major private sector organisations.

The free event is being hosted by Constructionline, which aims to connect companies and potential clients and pass on information about upcoming work opportunities.

Constructionline client relationship manager Alastair Robertson said: “In our experience, many local councils and businesses want to give work to local contractors and in turn, the contractors are eager to win these jobs.

“In this economic climate, it can be difficult for construction workers and businesses to find work and get access to buyers.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for construction companies to meet prospective clients within their local community.

“Hosting events like this is at the heart of what we do. We want to help suppliers find and secure work and make it easier for businesses to find reliable local construction companies.”
