Officers in the Angus town have asked for the public’s help in tracing Alan Kelly, who is missing from an address in the Bellevue Gardens area of Arbroath.

A force spokesman said: “Officers in Arbroath are expressing considerable concern for Alan. He has been acting in a manner considered by his family to be out of character and which is of a real concern to them.

“He was last seen by his sister on Wednesday evening and there has been no sighting of him since then.”

He continued: “The family of Alan are desperate to determine he is safe and well and request that if anyone has knowledge of where he might be to contact police on 101 or speak to any officer.”

Mr Kelly is described as about 5ft 9ins tall, of stocky build, with short dark brown hair which is beginning to go grey.

He is known to regularly wear a woolly hat, black jacket with double pockets on both sides of the front of the jacket and jeans.

He uses glasses but does not always wear them.
