Conmen offer tax discount in bid to find out bank details
The city council said the confidence tricksters were calling residents in the Capital offering a council tax refund.
Councillor Phil Wheeler said: "Thankfully, this scam has been brought to our attention and we are doing all we can to ensure that council taxpayers and others are aware of the dangers of disclosing personal information to unsolicited callers over the phone."

Hide AdThe council said the cold callers may mention they are calling from Leicester.
It said residents would only ever be called to discuss their account if they had requested the council to do so.
Any bogus calls received should be reported to the police, giving details of the time and date of the call.
