Comedy stars to raise roof for Macmillan

Tickets have gone on sale for a major comedy gala to be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in the summer to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The event will be part of the charity's centenary year, and is organised by The Big C, a voluntary organisation that raises money for cancer charities. It will feature ten comedians, still to be announced.

Macmillan's Edinburgh fundraising manager, Pamela Williamson, said: "We're thrilled to have The Big C and their comic friends supporting us.

"Of course, there is a serious point to the event - not only will the big names we're expecting to take part in this show have the audience laughing in the aisles, but the money raised will go towards making life better for people affected by cancer by funding vital Macmillan services.

"A gift of a Big C comedy ticket is bound to put a smile on the face of a loved one this Christmas and give them something they can really look forward to during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe."

The gala will take place on August 15. For tickets, visit www.bigcomedygala.com or call 0844 847 1639.
