College shows off good building tradition

COLLEGE students have showcased their work at Edinburgh Castle as part of an event to celebrate traditional construction skills.

Students from Edinburgh’s Telford College have been exhibiting as part of Scottish Apprentice Week, which began on Monday and ends on Friday.

The exhibition was launched by the Culture and External Affairs Minister Fiona Hyslop, and is a partnership between Construction Skills, Historic Scotland, the National Federation of Roofing Contractors, the Stone Federation, and Telford.

John Laing, sector business senior manager at the college, said: “We are delighted to have been invited to the Edinburgh Traditional Skills Exhibition to showcase the multitude of talents of our students.”
