College reels in visitor cash

Students and staff at West Lothian College have welcomed visitors from Bathgate's French twin town, Cran-Gevrier, with a ceilidh which raised more than £2500 towards future student exchanges.

Organiser Jenny Stalker said: "Our French friends were delighted with the evening and were so appreciative of our hospitality. They were very impressed with the food, piper Hamish and our sports students who taught them to dance.

"The visitors even pulled together a donation of their own before leaving the ceilidh - contributing a further 700 to help the students come to France - which was such a kind gesture."
