Clowning around on the toddle

MUMS and children had fun as they warmed up for the Teddy Toddle at Meadowbank stadium.

The charity event, which saw around 200 kids aged under six toddle down the running track with their favourite cuddly toy, raised cash for the Sick Kids Friends Foundation. Youngsters also enjoyed a bouncy castle, cup and saucer ride and fun activities. It was the event's eighth year.

Will Guest, of the Sick Kids Friends Foundation, said: "The funds raised will make a huge difference to the lives of children and their parents at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

"The Sick Kids Friends Foundation is involved in many projects including refurbishments in both Ward 1 and Outpatients. We are also planning to purchase more state-of-the-art surgical equipment to ensure that the highest standards of care are available for the children treated at the Sick Kids Hospital."
