Claims credit card misused by director

ONE of the highest-ranking directors at Registers of Scotland has been suspended over claims he misused a company credit card to fund a Christmas party.

Dr Iain Campbell, chief information officer at the government agency – which maintains property details across the country – is understood to have been relieved of his duties while an investigation is
carried out.

He is alleged to have paid for items for a staff Christmas party – including alcohol – using a procurement card belonging to the Registers of Scotland (RoS), whose Edinburgh HQ is based at Meadowbank House.

It is understood the festive bash was not held within the RoS offices.

A Register of Scotland spokeswoman said: “We can confirm a senior member of staff has been suspended.”
