Civil servants to get Afghanistan gongs

CIVIL servants working in Afghanistan are to receive a medal in recognition of their work.

Announcing the new honour yesterday, Foreign Secretary William Hague said the Civilian Service Medal (Afghanistan) would be awarded recognise their contribution towards creating a "secure and stable Afghanistan".
