City planning deal awarded

An innovative protocol which has reformed planning processes in Edinburgh has received national recognition.

The Edinburgh Planning Concordat was held up as best practice at the Royal Town Planning Institute’s National Planning Awards.

Councillor Jim Lowrie, the city council’s planning leader, said: “I’m delighted that the concordat has been commended by our planning peers for improving how developments are progressed.”
