Go and give thanks to Germany for the tradition of the Christmas tree at the Goethe Institute of Glasgow, which is staging an exhibition of the (often unexpectedly hilarious) results of a project in which people submit their interpretations of the iconic seasonal symbol.
The exhibition displays the best of the entries since the project began in 2004, which include Christmas trees carved out of lip balm and sculpted out of cress, beards made out of baubles and road signs proclaiming the approach of Christmas.
